Do not be like those who became divided, and disputed among themselves, despite the profound revelations that had come to them. They have deserved severe retribution.

Fussilat 33,34

Who is better than one who invites others to come to God, works righteousness, and says, “I am a Muslim.”

The righteous deed is not the same as the evil deed. You shall counter the evil deed with the best possible response, so that the one who used to be your enemy may become a close friend.
